Stand up, stand out

Never stand still

Move your body

A cultural mosaic

FLC's community is bright and vibrant, with students, staff, and faculty from an abundance of cultural backgrounds. With almost 180 Native American Tribes and Alaska Native villages represented, and students of color making up over half of the student body, we are one of the most diverse college campuses in the nation.

Take action

There's an aspect of academics that can be removed from "the real world," but mostly that's about what people do with what they're studying. Many students integrate the ideas born in the classroom into their everyday lives through their involvement in organizations. In addition to the many student-run organizations, consider involvement in the Environmental or Leadership centers, or student media.

Give back to our planet

Be the voice

Student media, including our local radio station, KDUR, and new source, The Independent, as well as our literary magazine, Images, give you a channel for your voice. You can submit pieces, volunteer as a radio DJ, or intern with these organizations, all of which are housed in the Ballantine Media Center.
